Welcome to our first-ever, brand-new web site!

I've been creating risky, challenging, interdisciplinary work, both in Vancouver and Toronto, for many years now, but have only now taken this step into Cyberia, and it feels great.

Please do check out Beggars Would Ride, a show that may indeed be unlike any you've seen before: set in some weird Otherworld where people speak a re-invented version of English, the show is extravagant, strange and horribly funny.  Veteran performers Allan Morgan and Karin Konoval are joined by Damon Calderwood, Jeff Gladstone and Tamara McCarthy.  Our brillant design team is Bryan Pollock (set), Barbara Clayden (costumes) and Itai Erdal (lights) with music / sound design by the incomparable Patrick Pennefather.  Newcomer Kyle Jesperson, a recent graduate of Studio 58, will be playing live music for the show.

This show originates in a 50-minute piece that was first done almost 20 years ago.  Also entitled Beggars Would Ride, it was set in a bizarre restaurant.  Two actors played the insatiable patrons and a chorus of five dancers played the waiters.   The show is now two acts and features 14 original songs (music by Patrick Pennefather, lyrics by Conrad Alexandrowicz).

Have a look around and tell us what you think.  You can support the society by becoming a member (membership is free).  We would love to see you at Beggars Would Ride -- you can buy tickets for the show online by clicking the Buy Tickets button!
