A twisted musical satire about power, class, greed and lust… and a rebellion that goes wrong. Featuring Damon Calderwood, Jeff Gladstone, Karin Konoval, Tamara McCarthy and Allan Morgan.
"Wishes, wishes…If wishes were horses then beggars would ride, as they say. Wishes are nothings!"
A twisted musical satire in the tradition of Brecht/Weill about power, class, greed and lust, and about a rebellion that goes wrong. The play takes place on an estate in some fantastic Otherworld where there are only two classes of people, owners and servants, and where people speak a strange version of English, reminiscent of Shakespeare, A Clockwork Orange and Dr. Seuss.
Morley and Ravinia, the two decadent aristocrats who own the estate, spend every waking moment gorging on a parade of impossible dishes brought them by their staff of three servants, whom they also abuse and exploit in various other ways. The servants are Rufus, his sister Zinna, and Frank, the latest addition to the house. Rufus, who is the most full of rage at their abuse, is determined to drive a wedge between Morley and Ravinia in order to stage a coup and take over the house. he determines that sex should be the instrument that will achieve the goal of bringing the couple, already in discord, into outright conflict. But for this he needs to enlist the services of Frank, who is most unwilling to serve as sexual bait.
